"I am Bijan Bahadori form
the Kashkoli tribe of the Qashqai.
I became interested in painting in my early youth.
I have not followed any particular style or method of painting.
I have spent most of my life among the Qashqai tribal and nomadic
people, and I am naturally familiar with their lifestyle, customs
and traditions. And since I am a Qashqai myself, I decided to
paint the customs and traditions of my own tribe, including wedding
customs, celebrations, the Nouruz (New Year) ceremony, hunting,
the migration of the tribe, and their camps in the summer and
winter areas. I also paint historical local battles, and many
other issues.
My paintings have been shown in the cities of Shiraz,
Tehran, Isfahan, Ahwaz, Shahr-e Kurd of the Bakhtiyari and a few
other small cities. Outside my country of Iran, I have had shows
in London and in Istanbul. In America, some 80 slides of my paintings
of the life of the nomadic tribal people were shown at Harvard
University."
Mr. Bijan Bahadori Kashkoli
paints mainly in water color. He also worked for the Office of
the Tribal-Nomadic Education of Fars, now retired. He now, mostly, lives in Shiraz.
