D. Wilde's English Poetic Renditions of Nine Love Poems by Mazun

Note
The project of translating Mazun’s poetry to English started in Chapel Hill, NC. I would like to thank Carl Ernst, director, and other participants of the NEH Summer Seminar on the Literature of Islamic Mysticism (University of North Carolina, 1999) for their assistance. Dana Wilde provided the “literary” versions of nine of the translated qazals.

Memories of my conversations with Habib Shahbazi, Ali Akbar Kaviani, and Mazun Kaviani, who introduced me to Mazun’s poetry, are with me.

The originals are scanned from the first published book on Qashqai Poetry, by Habib Shahbazi, Shiraz, Iran, 1989.
